New In: Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlight Review

Ever since Cover FX launched their custom enhancer drops so many brands jumped on the liquid highlight bandwagon and Makeup Revolution are no different.

So many beauty bloggers and makeup lovers have compared the two, often saying that Makeup Revolution's liquid highlighter is a dupe for the Cover FX product, and with that being said I picked up my very own Revolution highlighter in the shade champagne.

Let’s begin with the applicator, a pipette dropper which I was super happy about. The pipette drop allows you to choose how you apply the highlighter, you can drip the product directly onto your face, squirt some on the back of your hand or dab into onto your fingers and pat onto the face - the possibilities are endless and for a girl who loves to apply her makeup with her fingers I’m very pleased!

Now onto the good stuff, the highlighter. The highlighter itself is very pigmented and almost metallic. A little goes a long way, even with a small amount it is very shiny and reflective. If you love a strong highlight this is defiantly for you, if you like a natural highlight that imitates that lit within look, not so much for you.

I was under the impression it was similar to the Sleek highlighting palettes, the Sleek highlighters can be blended into the skin to give more of a glow/sheen or if you prefer can be built up to an intense highlight however it's not. The Makeup Revolution liquid highlighters are not an ‘inner glow’ but a product that makes you shine like never before.

I would say it does contain glitter, not big chunks of glitter but specs of sparkle are visible. Due to the glitter I wouldn’t recommend to mix this in with foundations or bb creams etc as you will have specs of glitter all over your face!

I have used my fingers, a brush and a beauty sponge to blend this into my skin and it blends. The product itself is smooth and thin so super easy to work with. It does dry incredibly fast so work quickly!

As for the colour it is exactly as named, a gorgeous champagne colour with the right about of peach and gold to it.

The packaging is pretty, a metallic reflective packaging. The shades of the bottles indicate the shades inside which is handy. The pipette dropper is made out of rubber so it prevents your hand slipping whilst using it and makes it easier to hold and pick up product. Overall the packaging is slim and modern, no downfalls.

For £6 you get 18ml (0.61 oz. of product which is a good amount for the price, also a amount that will last you for a while. The liquid highlight is available in 12 shades including a pearl, rose gold and unicorn shade!

If you love an intense highlight this is a great product and is a bargain for the amount and quality of product you get. Have you tried it? Let me know your thoughts below!
