I think most of us have suffered from our concealer creasing at one point or another. There's tonnes of new techniques and tricks flying around on Instagram and Pinterest but I have sensitive eyes so I have to stay awake from 'baking' and doubling up on powder.
With much trial and error (lots of errors!) I have learnt a few techniques that gives me full coverage but doesn't crease - win!

1. Hydrate
Just like any makeup, prep and skin is important. I have dry under eyes so I use a hydrating eye cream, I love the Superdrug Vitamin E eye cream it's creamy and leaves my under eyes super soft. Using a eye cream gets rid of any dryness and prevents the under eyes from getting dry throughout the day, dryness is one of the reasons concealer can crease and break up.

2. Choose concealer wisely! I have been a victim in the past of not choosing the right concealer for my skin, as I have dry under eyes stick and cream concealers usually don't work for me. There are still ways to get full coverage without the thick or drying consistency, Maybelline Fit Me is just that. It's a great medium coverage liquid concealer that is buildable. The L.A Pro Conceal is another great liquid concealer, it has full coverage and doesn't look cakey at all.
3. One step at a time!
A lot of concealers are medium coverage as the Maybelinne one is and for days i want a bit more I simply layer. I go in with a small amount then add more if needed. I used to find when I would apply a large amount it would settle into all the wrong places and cake up. Thin layers is key especially if you like to use more than one concealer.

4. Tools tools tools
Almost everyone loves a good beauty blender and that includes me but for my concealer I love to use my fingers and a small concealer brush. Trial and practice is the message here, try and test different applications and tools to see what works best for you. If you go in with a lot of product or a lot of layers a beauty sponge is great because it gives you a even finish but soaks up any extra product. If you like a more natural under eye a concealer brush or your finger would be ideal to give you a good blend.

5. Set
Baking has become a huge deal but it's not for everyone. It's great if your eyes can handle it and people swear that it helps to lock in the concealer and prevents creasing. My under eyes get incredibly dry when baking so I use a pressed powder instead. I use a good amount so my concealer is set and it won't smudge, fade or crease. I use a damp beauty sponge because i think it picks up a good amount of product but also has the perfect point shape for under the eyes. I also use the Real Techniques setting brush as that fits quite snug under the eyes and i can reach all the area under my eye including my inner corner.
Another tip I learnt is set quickly! The longer you leave your concealer the longer it has to settle in fine lines and crease! As soon as you blend, powder.
I am still learning new ways to make my makeup look fresh and last, if you have any tips or techniques that work please share them with by leaving me a comment!
